Quality & eye protection
STYLE THAT PROTECTS.
A pair of sunglasses should look good, feel comfortable and protect your eyes. That is why, at EYENEED, we care not only about design and comfort, but also about the European requirements for safety and eye protection. Here you can find out what lies behind the information on our sunglasses.
CE marking
The mark for European product requirements.
The CE marking confirms that a product meets the applicable requirements of the European Union, including those relating to health and safety. Our sunglasses carry the CE marking. For you, this means they comply with the requirements that apply to sunglasses in Europe.
EN ISO 12312-1:2013 + A1:2015
The European standard for sunglasses.
This standard sets out the requirements for sunglasses for general use. Our sunglasses comply with this standard. Among other things, it covers these areas:
-
UV protection
Requirements for how the lenses filter ultraviolet radiation.
-
Optical quality
Requirements for the lenses, so that you see clearly and without distracting distortion.
-
Mechanical strength
Requirements for the robustness of frame and lenses in everyday use.
-
Material and workmanship quality
Requirements for the materials used and how they are processed.
UV400 protection
Protection against UVA and UVB radiation up to 400 nanometres.
UV400 means that the lenses filter UVA and UVB radiation up to a wavelength of 400 nanometres. UV radiation is invisible to the eye and is present even when the sky is cloudy. How dark a lens is tinted says nothing about its UV protection. Our lenses offer UV400 protection, so your eyes are reliably protected in the sun.
